The Broadband Specialist II performs all the duties of an Broadband Specialist I plus installation of high speed data networking, including routers, for transmission or transport of voice, multimedia, or data. You’ll also begin complete service work in customer homes, apartments, and commercial properties along with routine maintenance and repair.
A Broadband Specialist III is our most experienced customer facing technician. You will perform installations, service changes, disconnects, and more for all of our residential products and services. As a Peer Coach, you will support new technicians as they learn the job. Your responsibilities will also include daily organization of service calls, customer relations, problem solving, maintenance duties, and serve as a field-based subject matter expert.
Once you’ve mastered the customer facing technical job, a Broadband Specialist IV works primarily on the Mediacom side of the network as opposed to inside the customer home. Here you’re responsible for expansion, maintenance, and repair of our entire cable television and high speed data networks. For instance, If there is an outage that affects 10’s or 100’s of customers, you’ll fix it. This is a very vital and fulfilling role at Mediacom and one you’ll be prepared for as you work hard and gain experience.
A Supervisor, Technical Operations manages a team of Installers, Installer Technicians, and Service Technicians. Here you’ll provide daily technical direction to your team so that the highest possible quality of service for our customers is maintained. You will also hire, train, evaluate, supervise and oversee work schedules of your technicians, as well as any contracted installers.
The Manager, Technical Operations manages one or more customer facing field technician teams within a cable system. Here your focus widens as you organize and direct the technical operations of all cable systems within your assigned area. You will focus on key metrics used to measure the efficiency of your teams and service provided. It will also be your responsibility to retain fully staffed, functional teams of technicians.
The Director, Technical Operations is responsible for the overall leadership of regional technical operations, technical operations managers (TOM), and cable systems in the region. This position provides leadership and guidance to the system’s technical workforce. This position plans and may strategically devise reports to analyze operations, identify problems, and recommend corrective solutions. The Director plans, organizes, directs, and is ultimately responsible for technical operations of all cable systems within the region.
